From JEAN-AUGUSTINE-GUSTIN GENEALOGY by M.E.Bushnell He purchased immense tracts of land much of which was lost by squatters acquiring title. The late Hon. Amos Gustin M.C. of Pennsylvania was a great grandson. Some say his name was Samuel Alpheus Gustin and that he was the father of Dr. Lemuel ( Samuel ) Gustin and that he was the father of Dr. Lemuel ( Samuel ) Gustin. They wrote their S and L the same. The simple was to assume the Rev. Alpheus Gustin was Samuel Alpheus Gustin. It is an undoubted fact that Dr Lemuel and William were brothers as noted in their escape from Fort Forty
