Information regarding the site of the tomb. Shirley and I spent a day trying to find the Gustin tomb. We went to the library and there was only reference to Gustin Cemetery listed as on the Snook farm. It was farther East than a half mile from 1/2 mile Branchville. We spent a day trying to find the Snook farm and then found that it was the wrong Snook farm. We then drove back to Branchville which is now built up and city boundary not found but as we reluctantly went East from Branchville, to the left ( north ) we saw a sign Augustine Hill road. We were in traffic pulling a trailer and just could not stop..
----------------------------------------------------------------Source says that no more bodies are buried there.

From NEW JERSEY AS A COLONY AND AS A STATE - by Francis B Lee.
In the region “ at Branchville were Colts,Gustins and DeWitts”.

From HISTORY OF SUSSEX AND WARREN CO. Pg 31 and 32
One of the earliest settlements east of the Blue Mtns. was in the Pokakating Valley and Gustins were among them. -------------------------------------------------------------
Shirley and I went back to the Branchville, Augustine area in 2002 and went up the Augustine Hill and found an old cemetery with only two stones left. This wa not awarding. I believe that one would have to spend more than the two days there to try to find the tombs. No one was available to help us.
