Boone Co. Ind. Judgement Docket V# 1866 Israel Bennett and Jared M. Bennett vs State of Indiana “ Defendents must pay $ 300.00 dated Sept 30, 1867. Paid off in 3 payments in Apr. 1868” It seems that the Bennetts sued the State possibly for back Civil War pay.
