Pg 151 Cady Saga. He fought in the Revolutionary War near Bedford.Pa in the Bedford Co. Malitia. Married in Luthern Church, York Co. Pa. He did not leave a will but made a LOVE DEED leaving his property to Eli Michael and Phillip Michael (Relationship not given but assumed to be sons)This was for his care in his old age.1840 census of Decatur Ind. shows Hannalias ( a widow ) head of the household.In publication C Vol 62 Pg 511 records Catherine Michaels marriage to John Bennett, naming Casper as her father and surely given by Jasper Michael.??? Casper shows in the 1820 Ind. census in Dearborn Co, Ind. Indiana Land grants shows that he took a claim in 1818 in Dearborn Co.Ind.1830 Dearborn Co. Ind. census shows Casper in the 70-80 age bracket.Casper was in Cumberland Co T. Bedford Co. Pa. in 1783.Dearborn Co records shows Casper owning NW1/4-S 7 on 7.1.1817. Original Decatur Co. Landowner listed Casper Michael 31 Jan 1836 Pg 228. MARJORIE Nichols has notes showing that Casper was born in 1756. Catherine Michael shows in her marriage to John Bennett that Casper Michael was her father..Casper shows in the 1820 census in Dearborn Co, Ind.1830 census shows Casper in the 70 to 80 bracket. 1840 census shows Hannalias a widow. Marj. Nichols says her record shows he owned land in 1818. He was on the tax record of Bedford Co. in 1783. Copy of Love Deed and related materials in the Michael album. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Volume 7 of Monongallia Co, W.V. court records by Melba Zinn 1808-1814 has entries of J. Casper Michael. This the first entry showing J. initial as part of his name. This could be true as his sons were Jacob, John, and Jared ----------------------------------------------------------------- Casper Micharel was a farmer, Luthern, Revolutionary War Veteran. In 1785 he had a vulue of 14 Pounds ---------------------------------------------------------------- From Bristow files - Casper Michael was a free man in Bedford Co. Indiana in 1783 and was subject to the Malitia from 1783 to 1790. Records show that he owned land in Dearborn Co. Ind. in 1818, He and his wife Hannah deeded land in Dearborn Co, Ind. to John and Eli Michael, May 31, 1828 for care, doctoring and a good decent comfortable living during their lifetime. Witnesses to this deeding were Philip Michael and Cyyrus Mills. It is known that there were several other children but the facts as yet are not well established. These could include Philip, Casper who married Ann Voltz and Jasper. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Tax list of Cumberland Twp. Bedford Co. Pa. Listed him as single. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Wm. Penn Memorial Museum at Harrisburg, Pa. writes that G ( C )asper Michael enrolled as a private 4 th class from Bedford Co. Penn Malitia 1780 to 83 ---------------------------------------------------------------- From Elsie Browning materials. Casper did not leave a will in 1838 but made a love deed leaving his property to Eli and Michael Michael ( relationship not given ) for care in his old age. 1840 census of Decatur Co Ind shows Hannah as a widow and head of the household.
