John Michael ( 2033 ) Son of Casper Michael and the brother of our Jared Michael and Uncle of our Elizabeth Michael Alvord Cady Balcolm. He was born in W.V. but came to Missouri by the way of Indiana and is buried in the town of Harris cemetery in Sullivan County on the Mercer Co. border and about 50 miles north of Linneus. He died and was buried in 1869.
Do you suppose that our Thomas Cady from Wisconsin came to Linn County, Missouri, in 1865 because his wife's uncle lived in the area ? Up until 1843 Sullivan Co.was part of Linn Co. He possibly had to come by the Harris area on his way from Wisconsin.
Also Eli Michael, his bros, died there as well as Niccum and Evans families. All are related and there are 80 buriels in the Harris cemetery from these three families. I visited there in 1992 and have photos of all the stones of the older generations. Shirley and I visited the cemetery the fall of 1999

John Michael was born in 1805 in Virginia and died in 1869 in Mercer Co, Mo. He was married april 22, 1830 in Decatur Co, Indiana, to Dilemma Evans who was born in 1812 in Monongalin Co. West Virginia, the daughter of John Evans and Elizabeth Ann Windsor, Dilemma " Dill " died inMarch, 1899. She and John are buried in the Harris Cemetery. They had 9 children, all born in Decatur Co. Indiana.
