Her name was abihail but she was called Abiel. Her grandson, Governor William Chamberlain of VT.varified the name and she also signed it Abihail when she was administator of the estate of Jacob in the Suffolk Co. Probate Court. Her grandfather was Lt. William Hasey who was prominent in the King Philip’s war of 1675. THE CHAMBERLAIN ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA annual report 1908-10 has good coverage of the family and their descendants for three generations, written by Jacob’s son, General William Chamberlain under the date of 6 Jan 1820

Jacob and Abihail “ owned the covenant” at the Roxbury church in Dec. 1714. They quitclaimed her rights to the estate of her father to herbrother. William Hasey on 1 Feb. 1713/14. They resided for some time at Roxbury and then at “Rumny Marsh, within the precinct of Boston “ now Revere where he was admitted to the church on 9 Feb. 1723/23.
