Dan Storrs was out in one campaign of the Revolutionary War as quartermaster of a regiment and was at White Plains. he was also active in making salt peter for the manufacture of gunpowder. He was in the Lexington Alarm.
he favored Washington and opposed .Jefferson. He was a merchant at Mansfield both wholesale and retail. he kept a hotel for 25 years and he combined farming with the two operations. he amassed a large amount of property and was real-estate broker and probate banker for all of his section of the country. he was of obliging disposition, stirring and liked by all, tall,large and robust and always wore a queue
