She joined the Mormon Church in June 1833 in N.Y. State and went to Kirkland, Ohio, Western Missouri and Nauvoo, II with her husband suffering all the persecution. She and her husband did not have the ability to go to Utah immediately but stayed in Iowa till April 1852. There was a colera outbreak in their company and she was one of the victims, dying near the present Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She is buried in one of the few marked graves along the trail. Her granddaughter was the wife of Heber J. Grant. -----------------------------------------------------------------
