They had six children according to a 1784 Virginia census. I have listed 9 children. A letter written by Rev James Gulruth says they had 10 children.The area Hampshire Co. Va. now is is a part of West Virginia. Kimber served in Captain James Scott's Co of Virginia Volunteers as a private from March 14, 1777 to 29 April 1777. He received 3 pounds 15 shllings 6 d. From Fauquier Co. Court Records- 27 Jan 1777 Kimber Barton, William Hunton, Robert Sanders, Samuel Butler were ordered to appraise estate of John Thomas, Dec'd. 26 May 1777 Kimber Barton and the above or any three of the to appraise estate of Elijah Nash, Dec'd . June 1779 Kimber Barton was Pltf against Alexander Ewn Debt, June 1779 Kimber Barton, Pltf. against Lewis Dearmore, Debt. The sheriff reported he had attached ONE SORREL MARE. Court ordered Kimber Barton cover 2 pounds, 12 shillings and costs from sale of the goods.

Written in 1872 by Rev James Gilruth in a letter to Gen. W.H.Kelly who lived in Scioto Co. Ohio. " Kimber Barton, his wife;s name was Catherine. Their Children's names were Mrs Day, Deborah, Eli, Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, Naomi, Kimber, Matilda and Catherine. Deborah married Ellis Chandler, Eli went to Cascaska Ill., who he married I never knew, Joseph married a Miss Rector Mary married a Clem Warren,Elizabeth married William Lockhart
Naomi married ----- Rector ( Joseph's brother-in-law ) from which she obtained a divorce and years afterwards married Mathew White, Matilda married Doc. Bivens who went to Illinois and settled in or near Marietta."
Barton was a neat farmer and kept everything in nice order. His was the first shingle house on this side of the river between little Scioto and Big Sandy. For many years he was a Justice of Peace and a first class citizen. In Spring Hill Twp, Adams Co, in 1802 a Kimber Barton lived ???
