Another source, Lee Cady, says born 1835 from 1950 Oregon Census. From the Sunday Democrat- Albany, Oregon David K. Michael was born in Indiana in 1835 coming with his parents to Oregon in 1847. He and his brother Elijah, Jason Clark and some others built a sawmill at Harrisburg and had some interest in a flour mill. After a few years David sold his holdings there taking cattle as payment. Common cows at that time were selling for fifty or sixty dollars a head. In one years time the price dropped to eight to ten dollars per head. David was forced to sell all he had to pay some debts. David eventually got one half of his parents donation Land Claim in the Union Point district. He married Sarah Boley. They raised a family of 6 children. All are now dead with the exception of a daughter, Mrs William Fruit, who resides in Linn County.
