She died at the home of a daughter in Lawrence, Ks.She was cremated and her ashes buried on the grave of her husband, Henry, in the Almogordo. N.M. Cemetery. In the older area at the back of the cemetery. She was the cousin of Henry's first wife who died young . Ruth davis who knew her said that she was a pleasant woman and completely dominated my her husband. He would leave her on the homestead to tend chlores and care for the children and go to town for two or three days. His daughters said that he would go across state and leave his family and they had to catch up as best they could.
Henry and Dora lived in Sullivan Co. Mo. when first married. After a few years they moved to Linn Creek, Mo. where a lot of the family lived. In 1907 they emigrated to Eastern Colo and took up a homestead 30 miles north of Limon Colorad. All of their stock and farm and household goods were loaded on a box car and usually the family shared one end of the car .The trains were called emigrant trains.
