He was the first husband of Elizabeth Michael and she left him about the first of Sept 1844 They were married 30 Sept, 1843. She went to Oregon and married Thomas Cady without the benefit of a divorce. Joseph filed for a divorce in Howard Co. Indiana the 21 st of Dec 1849 and the divorce was final 14 May, 1850.
