From ANCESTRY OF JOHN S. GUSTIN BY Susan McComb he first settled in Colchester, Conn. He then went to Stonington where he married Abigail Shaw. This source says that Dr. Lemuel Gustin was his grandson. Other sources say that Dr. lemuel was the son of Rev. Alpheus Gustin. The confusion is great because Samuel and Lemuel look the same due to the S and L being made the same in those days. These names were used many times in the lines. We also have Dr. Joel as a son of Rev. Alpheus Gustin and not from Samuel line. -----------------------------------------------------------------
