Jones in his 80 th year, father of Mrs George Green, Mrs Will Coon and Lois Jones of Walworth and Henry L. and Mrs J.W.Ferrier of Oklahoma Walworth, Wis." ----------------------------------------------------------------- OBITUARY " Mr. C.C. Jones a respected citizen of our village died Monday, June 25, 1906 at 8 o'clock in the forenoon. Mr Jones had been confined to his home since last September and most of the time to his bed.. He had been a patient sufferer for the last six weeks of his earthly existance, and through all his painful ordeal not a murmur has escaped his lips. He had been tenderly and affectionately cared for by his three daughters from the beginning to the end. Mr. Jones would have completed his 80 th year next October. C.C. Jones was born in October 1826 at Painesville, Ohio. In 1828 his father gathered his little family and migrated to the primitive forests of Michigan, locating at Jonesville. , which was named in his father's honor. After arriving to manhood he made Detroit his home where he learned the mason’s trade in which vocation he became a master workman. He became acquainted and married Mary A. Langley which union was blessed with seven children, four girls and three boys. All of whom survive him except for one. His wife proceeded him in death about 25 years ago. Mr. Jones was the fourth child of seven children of his father's family, he being the last one to reach the other shore. ----------------------------------------------------------------- From JONES GENEALOGY Claudius Cossus Jones came to Jonesville, Mich. with his parents in 1818 and was the youngest of the youngsters who lived in the Allen corn crib while his father and oldest brother erected a log house that was to be the new home of the family. Like all of the Jones men he grew to be fine looking and in a letter from one of his daughters he is said to have been as fine as he looked. ---------------------------------------------------------------- From notes of R.M.Powers Jr. It is understood that Claudius Cossus did not get to Texas but lived many years in Walworth, Wisc. His father left him $ 50.00 in his will. The mother of R.M.Powers says that Claudius visited Jonesville several times and she rmembered him well.
