From THE BOONE FAMILY by Hazel Atterbury Spraker She was the 4 th child and only daughter of Squire Boone Jr. and was born at 4 in the morning on a Monday. She was born in the forks of the Yadkin in N.C. As a child she was on the frontier. She was only 4 when the siege of Boonesborough took place. She was with her parents until 1790 when Squire and family went to Florida for his health. She was left behind with relatives. In 1790 at the age of 15 or 16 she married John Wilcoxson in Jefferson Co. Ky. and settled upon Surveyed and improved land in her name by her father, Squire Boone. It was 4 miles north of Shelbyville., Shelby Co, Ky.Of their children, Dr Edwin Wilcox was my great grandfather who married Elizabeth Barton. -----------------------------------------------------------------
