He graduated from Yale in 1725 and ordained the third pastor of the First Society of Killingly on 19 Jan 1754. He married tDamaris Cady Howe, the widow of Rev. Perley Howe 12 Nov. 1754. The Cady cottage served as a parsonage for both Howe and Brown. The upstairs room facing the Common was used as a study by both men. Rev Brown instructed youth who wanted more education than provided by the public schools.
