When he was 16, he went to the civil war. He came home without a scratch. He then moved to Soux City, Iowa, and worked for the Tribune newspaper until he died and was buried at Soux City, Iowa.He was employed by THE JOURNAL for two months before his death by Pneumonia or consumption of which his father had died. His sister from Bellevue, Nebr. Mrs Zalmon Storrs and his sister Mrs Clarence Blend of Omaha were present as his death. He was Catholic and FatherLenahan officiated for services at the house and grave. I have a copy his death notice in my files.
