Edmond Chamberline ( as he spelled it ) first appears in New England when he married Mary Turner on 4 Jan 1646/47 at Roxbury, MA He has generally been assumed that he was the brother of Thomas and William Chamberland. They all three appeared in New England about the same time.

Prentice Glazier has made the following history which seems to be logical if not entirely proven.Thomas Chamberlain was clearly the eldest of the three brother sand took the lead. Thomas and a pardner, Parker, bought 8 miles of land and formed Bellerica and Edmund and William bought from them. Thomas went 8 miles further north and was a pioneer in forming the town of Chelmesford. It is believed that Edmund got money for the land purchases from hid first wife.

HOTTEN’S LIST OF IMMIGRANTS says that Thomas Chamberline came from Gravesend, England to VA iIn January and February 1648/49 William and Edmund Chamberlain appear in Woburn records. HOTTEN’S LIST list contains the name of William Chamberland aged 15 from Gravesend England to VA. The three, Thomas, William and Edmund appear to be brothers. All three joined with neighbors in a petition to the General Court for a tract of land which afterward became Chelmsford William and Edmund also had land at Chelmsford

Church records show that Mary Chamberland belonged to the church and that four children were baptized at Chelmsford. Edmund Chamberland lived in Chelmsford for about 16 years and was one of the fence-viewers in 1657 and 1662 and had considerable land and had a comprtable farmer’s homestead. On May 3, 1665 he became a Freeman of the Mass. Bay Co.

After his marriage to Hannah, he moved again making his new home in Malden wherehis new wife had formerly lived. the people of Malden elected him as one of their constables, a great part of his work was collecting taxes. mhe served in the King Philip’s war while in Malden. they sold their place in Malden and apparently moved back to Roxbury and were living there on 27 Oct 1678He helped found Woodstock, which later was in Conn. It was close to Roxbury Hannah Chamberland was admitted to full communion in the church at Roxbury on 15 June, 1684
