He lived in Rehoboth, Mass. in 1663 and helped Rev. John Miles organize the First Baptist Church of Mass. He was an elder in the Church of Rehoboth. He, with several others,seized a church whose pastor had died, and turned it into a Baptist Church. The Plymouth Court took action, charged the seven men with disturbing the peace by setting up a separate worship. They were each fines 5 pounds and ordered to leave town or lose their property. They had lands given to them by the Government in Swabsea. His home in Swansea was later burned by the Indians in the Kink Philip's War. In later days he paid taxes in both Swansea and Rehoboth
