From his gravestone in Littloe Hoosick. NY He was married twice. On August 14, 1937, Nicholas C. Cook visited Petersburg, N.Y. and recorded the following inscriptions from the gravestones. He also visited the site marked as being the location where Hezekiah's house ( inn ) was located originally. The present occupant of the home advised that the old Coon Cemetery plot is on the east side of route 22 which now passes through the town. The plot is just north of where Coonbrook Road meets Route 22. the gravestone reads " In memory of Hezekiah Coon, Esq. who died Oct 4 th 1806 aged 61 years 7 Months. ----------------------------------------------------------------- History and Genealogy Register Vol 14 P 164 Hezekiah Cassel Coon moved from Westerly,
R.I. to Stephantowm and Petersburg, N.Y. He was prominent politically and his descendants reside in Petersburg today. Wherever there was a Coon they usually were Seventh Day Baptists or First Day Baptists. His wives were listed as Sarah and Elizabeth.

Hezekaih Coon joined the First Sabbatian Church of Hopkinton, Washington Co.R.I.October 16, 1779.His wife, Sarah, had joined, June 25, 1770. Hezekiah and his brother, Rev. William Coon were among the first settlers of Petersbofgh Hezekiah was an inkeeper and acted as moderator of the first Petersburgh town meeting which was held in his house In 1791 he voted that there should be a constable in the town. In 1794 there was a town meeting in his home which was an inn. He built the second tavern in the town and it was called Coon’s Inn
