Wrote his name Coon of Hopkinton.. He first married Penelope Rogers. He married in April, 1738 Patient Allen From loose pages genealogy found in Hopkinton, R.I. William MacKoone was made a freeman in 1732-3. He was probably about 25 years old when he married Patient Allen. he died at an early age in 1742 soon after making his will which is dated 13 Nov. 1742 ( Westerly Probate Records ). The death of William Macoone only four years after his marriage left his young widow and four small children whom he mentioned in his will.
