Partial Obituary- DONALD M. STEVENS 70, Donald M. Stevens 70, well known Standing Stone farmer died Friday Morning May 15, 1987 at Memorial Hospital in Towanda. Born Jan 2 1917 in Standing Stone twp., he was the son of Oaxley and Hazel Schoonover Stevens. Don was a lifelong residence of Standing Stone twp, and after attending Towanda high school he joined the operation on the family farm. On January 15, 1942 he married Sally Schultz of Monroeton. He was an avid sportsman. He drove a school bus since 1949 He was a member of the Towanda Elks Lodge and the Waverly Moose Club.Surviving are his wife Sally Schultz Stevens a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Patricia Stevens of Wysox RFD 2, a daughter Donna Stevens, a granddaughter Rhonda Stevens and an aunt, Eleanor Stevens, of Towanda.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 P.M. at the Standing Stone Cemetery with Rev, Kenneth Bitner officiating. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Standing Stone Methodist Church in Mr Stevens’ memory. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
