He had a PHD degree in engineering,and taught at the Uni of Southern California. He was dying with cancer and wrote me a letter saying that he wanted to see me. Shirley and I went to Northern California to visit him and his second wife, Marcia, in their mountain top home. We had a real nice three day visit visit and Jim really felt like taking us through the wine country and we walked every day. He died less that 2 months after we left. Jim's first wife was a little peculiar and none of our family were welcome in her home but Marcia was a gracious hostess.
