His widow said that he was born Oct 3, 1905. Cousin Edwin was a real nice guy. When I was in college, I caught a ride to El Paso to visit Uncle Edwin Cady. Edwin Jr. and Gladys were newly weds and they took me to Juarez, Mexico, and showed me around. Later, after he retired, they moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, and we visited them several times. My son, Mike, spent two Summers in an American school in Guadalajara and our daughter, Connie, spent one Summer. Edwin and Gladys were kind enough to look after them. As Ed and Gladys got older, they moved to a lovely home in Sun City, California, and we visited them often and they visited us in Gilbert several times. Gladys was a wonderful hostess. Edwin has joined A.A. but Gladys still had a few drinks and smoked a lot. Edwin died a painful death of cancer and we were over to help Gladys as best we could. We then made it a point to visit Gladys every year till she died.
