From Wendy Ela- My guess in that Sarah came to Rochester in the spring of 1850 to help her sister Mary Witman Wade. Mary’s husband , John Wade, left in the spring for California. Mary was sick at the time which delayed his departure. Mary was pregnant at the time with a daughter born in the fall. If Sarah came to stay with Mary and the children she would have met Henry Cady at that time. Three uncles of May and Sarah lived in the Rochester- Honey Creek area at that time.
