The book, Elder John Crandall of Rhode Island Mesa LDS Library has his middle initial was E. on page 321 but the cemetery stone shows H.Events of his life from The Sabbath Recorder found in Janesvulle Wisc. at the Seventh Day Baptist Church headquarters. Here we found that his middle name was Henry. His wife, Rebecca , died leaving a young daughter. His sister, Mary Coon came to live with him, never married, and raised the daughter. Later his father Charles D. Coon lived with him for 12 years after the death of his wife and his poor health-Facial Neuralgia. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Obituary- Coon, Charles Henry, was born in Walworth, Wisc March 13, 1853 and died at his home in Battle Creek, Mich, October 5, 1938. He was married to Rebecca Smith April 25, 1875 who proceeded him in death Oct 17, 1892. He leaves an only daughter, Ruby,( Mrs Emile Babcock ) Though raised in a sturdy religious atmosphere he did not openly become a Christian till middle life. For many years he has been a faithful member of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Baptist Church.. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Edward M Holston. The remains were taken to Walworth, where further services were conducted by President Jay W. Crofoot of Milton College and internment made in the Walworth cemetery. -----------------------------------------------------------------
