MARRIED MARY PETERSON. Another source ( LDS Computer ) says he was born 25 Mar 1801.they were converts to the Mormon faith, accompanied " Gods Chosen People " in their westward migration to Utah, during the Mormon exodus of 1847. He was in the first wagon train after Brigham Young. They had 13 children.They arrived in the valley of the Great Salt Lake on July 24, 1847 ( A Mormon holiday now) and settled at" The Center Stake of Zion " ( Salt Lake City ), near the Jordan River. In 1853, the Gustin Colony ( Thomas, the father, having died in the meantime, in California Gold rush) removed to Nephi, Juab Co., Utah, where they located permanently. They were among the first group after Brigham Young to come to Utah. There are 50 families in a group. They divided the group into tens for organization . Notice that there are ten families in each group and Thomas Gustin was in the fourth group of ten in the first train after Brigham Young. Mormon trail records show him born March 6, Lexington, Fayette, Ky. Ohio Gustin, Thomas and Peterson, Married 6 Mar 1822 ---------------------------------------------------------------- From Descendants of John Holden by Viettia Newcomb Thomas Gustin, born 25 March 1901 in Kentucky. died 17 Sept 1849, in California, near the Consumnes River, while on a trip to the gold fields with his son-in-law, James Calvin Sly. Thomas Gustin and Mary Peterson married March 1, 1822, in Virginia, she died 19 Sept 1865 in Nephi, Juab Co., Utah. Her parents were John and Elizabeth Peterson.

They left the Elkhorn River 27 miles west of Winter Quarters on June 17/18, 1947The family cosisted of Thomas age 47, wife Mary age 42, children Jane R. age 17, Susannah age 15. Thomas J. age 9, Mary age 7, Nancy B. age 5 and George W. age 2.Some has his Name as Thomas Jefferson and his son was Thomas J.
