He was a shoemaker . He was commissioned on May 5, 1774 as a lieutenant in the 4 th Co. 11 Reg. Conn, Malitia and was later a Captain. About 1790 he removed to Providence, R.I. and built a house on what is now known as Cady Street. On July 25, 1805 he was admitted a member of the First Baptist Society of Providence. he applied for a pension which was granted as a Lieutenant 17 Jan 1833
