Elias W. Rector was educated at Little Rock, Ark. and the University of Virginia. In 1874 he was admitted to the bar at Hot Springs, Ark. For many years he served in the general assembly and was chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Ways and Means Committee and Speaker of the House at three consecutive terms.He indroduced many bills and was a candidate of Gov. 2 times,
