Misc. Notes
Plymouth probate records Petition of Isaac Billington and his wife Hannah dated Mar. 1, 1703/4 A true narrative in relation or a bill of charges drawn up by Isaac Billington and his wife Hannah this 1 st day of March 1704 Concerning the great expense and charge were at in keeping their aged parents, Francis and Christian Billington, late of Middleborough in the county of Plymouth in New England deceased for the space of 7 years even to their death and burial. They were near 80 years old when they dyed and it is now 18 years since. Soon after the never to be forgotten impoverishing Indian wars, my aged father, Francis came to me and told me he must again return to Middleborough for he could no longer subsist at Plymouth and urges me of greatest importance to goe with him, alleging that he should perish if I did not. though then I lived comfortably in Mansfield I removed with my family to Middleborough to take care of and provide for my aged parents according to their request and did for the space of near 7 years providing both house, food and apparal for them and kept them both in sickness and health and at death was at ye charge of ye funeral ect. It goes on justifying his getting the entire estate which was really very little.

FROM JOHN BILLINGTON FAMILY GENERATIONS - He asked the court for all of his father's estate because he and wife Hannah Glass had cared for Francis and
Christian Billington in their old age. There is no proof that this was approved.
He was often sued for debt, cited for not attending public meetings and for not planting corn.
