From The Jones Genealogy The marriage of Experience Jones was most unhappy. The letters written by the brothers and sisters tell almost unbelievable humiliations and cruelties to which she was subjected.., but say that her children were lovely children in spite of the atmosphere they were brought up in. For a time she lived in a house in east Hartford, Conn. which her son, Joel, bought for her., while her husband wandered over land and sea. Their daughter, Mary, married a surgeon in Boston and lives there. He studied in Philadelphia but belongs to Boston,owns a grand three storied house in the city and she lives in it.
