From SQUIRE BOONE AND HIS DESCENDANTS Pg 357 He was not a Quaker so caused a lot of trouble when he married Sarah. He was killed by an Indian near Lexington, Ky close to Bryan Station 3 Feb 1782 ---------------------------------------------------------------- From WILLCOKSON AND ALLIED FAMILIES by Wulfeck In the Yadkin Valley be made security in a law suit where Samuel Hall sued George Wilcocks. He was constable in Rowan Co. N.C. before 1763 Descendants have joined DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION on the services of John Wilcokson as an Indian fighter. -----------------------------------------------------------------

From THE MAKISSICK TIES TO DANIEL BOONE The Boones were Quakers and evidently John Wilsoxson was not since Sarah was CONDEMNED for MARRYING OUT. Sarah’s marriage ( and also the fact that her first child was born suspiciously soon after the marriage cerimony) added further strains between the Boones and the Quaker Society.
