From Bowman Files He married 3 time he had Samuel Eaton by first wife, no childen by second wife and three children by Christian Penn, Rachael abt 1625, Benjamin after 1627 and ( idiot ) Eaton He was made a freeman Benjamin was put to Bridgen in 1633 He was a carpenter When he died he owed more than the estate was worth and his wife, Christian, refused to administer it. 11 Feb 1635 By the concent of his mother Benjamin Eaton was let to Bridgett Fuller for 14 years, to be kept in school two years and to employ him as she saw good and not to let him to others without concent of the court. 13 AUG 1636 Samuel Eaton with the consent of his mother, Christian, was bound as an apprentice to John Cooke for a term of 7 years. At the end of 7 years he was to be given one complete suit of clothes and two others, one for ordinary wear and one for the Sabbath, also 12 bushels of indian corn and a heiffer of 12 months. 2 March 1651 Samuel Eaton for pilfring and stealing was sentanced to sit in the stock and in was accordingly executed.. ---------------------------------------------------------------- From Mayflower Families through Generations. Francis Eaton was from England but who did come from there is not known for certain. He came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. He was an able carpenter. there is little doubt that his profession saved many lives the first winter. Governor Bradforn writes of him " Francis Eaton and Sarah, is wife, and Samuel theire sone and young child" Later is remarked he said " Francis Eaton, his first wife dyed, he married againe and his second wife dyed, he married the 3 rd wife and had by her three children. One of them is maried and hath a child. the other was living but one was an idiote. He, the father dyed about 16 years ago. His son Samuel came over a suckin child, is also maried and hath child. Son and father survived the first winter but Sarah died in early 1631. He married the second time an unmarried maid of John Carver of the Mayflower. There was no recorded children of this marriage and she died a year or two later. He married Christian Penn a passenger on the ship, Ann. ( After he died Christian Penn married Francis Billington of the Mayflower ) The 1633 epidemic swept away Samuel Eaton and many others. Francis Eaton and Christian Penn had three children. two are listed but there is no name for the third. ---------------------------------------------------------------- From NEW ENGLAND HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL REGISTER Vol. 1, pg 51. Frances Eaton was one of the 41 signers of the Mayflower Compact. He was allowed 4 shares of land, one for himself, son Samule and one for each of his first two wives who came on the Mayflower. On the division of livesock in 1627, his family received a white bellied heyfer and two shee goats.
