Symon Willarde of Growthurst, co. Kent, yeoman, Will made Feb.6 and proved Feb 26 -1562. He listed wife Elizabeth, sons Thomas and Richard, daughters Thomasine and one who married Mr. Bolde and had children a messuage in Horsemonden purchased of Eichard Everenden ect. Elzabeth, widow of SymonWillard, buried at Horsemonden Aprin 12, 1587 appears to be the wife mentioned in the will. The towns of Goudhurst, Brenchley and Horsemonden adjoin and a man often held lands in a two or all three of the townships. This makes it a probability amounting almost to certainly that Symon's son Richard is the father of our Aimon Willard.
