Notes from Averill Abbott - Mr and Mrs Jared Elijah Nichael of 3545 xxxx celebrated their 63 th wedding anniversity 23 Dec 1938. Mrs. Michael's maiden name was Susan Evilyn Wood. She came with her parents , Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wood to Oregon 75 years ago, when 8 years old. Mr Michael was the oldest of 15 children. His father, the Rev. E. G. Michael was a minister of the Methodist Epicapol Churth South. His circuit included the Willamette Valley and much of Eastern Oregon. In 1864 his church founded Corvallis College. Jared Michael was anxious to enter Corvallis College but as he was the oldest he had to work on the farm during his father's almost constant absence. Mr and Mrs J.E. Michael were married in 1876. Mr Michael's father gave them his the Donation Land Claim near Lebanon. in 1857 they moved to Corvallis so the children could enter college. The three eldest children, Mrs J. Sherman Wallace, Mrs C.V. Burke and Mrs Ray P.Burke are all graduates Oregon State. There are 5 children in the family. The other two Mrs Hilmer Reck and Lynn W. Michael all of Portland. Mr and Mrs Michael with their family moved to Portmand in 1905. They have 10 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. -----------------------------------------------------------------

Mr and Mrs J.E. Michael was married in 1876. Mr Michael’s father gave them his DLC near Lebanon, In 1897 they moved to Corvallis so their children could go to college. Three of their five children graduated from Oregon State University in Corvalli They moved to Portland in 1905. They had 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
