There is some question but he may have served in the Revolutionary War. Daniel Michael was of German descent and a prosprous farmer near Arnettsville in Monongalia Co. He served as a soldier in several campaigns and married Miss Arnett by whom he had children. one daughtr and four sons, William, Andrew, James, Henry and Mrs Katie Hawkins. ----------------------------------------------------------------- From a section on another Michael in the same printing. Daniel Michael settled upon Stewarts Run three miles north of Arnettesville in Grant District where he became a pioneer farmer. He was industrious, soon succeeded in establishing a comfortable home and eventually became one of the most thrifty and successful farmers of the county owning at the time of his demise a large amount of real estate.
