The census of Sept 16, 1850 of Marcellon, Columbia Co, Wisc, listed Simon Hoyt as a farmer aged 39 born in Vermont and Elizabeth Hoyt aged 39 born in New York THE SPRING PRAIRIE, WALWORTH CO, in 1860 census listed S.B. Hoyt as 49, Merchant, born in Vermont and Elizabeth 48 born in New York and three children all born in Wisconsin. The 1970 census shows Elizabeth and the three children but no Simon. Amanda Cady, age 3,who left Wisconsin in 1865 says that she could not remember him but did the rest of the family. He must have died in the early 1860s at least before 1870.
