Commissioner Langley of the Board of Public Works was summoned home Wednesday afternoon to find his 2 year old boy, Chester, very seriously burned., the results with playing with matches which he found on a bureau of a room in which he was taking a nap. Mrs Langley's hand was badly burned extinguishing the flames. The poor child was upstairs alone and when the flames enveloped him reached the head of the stairs screaming pitifully. Fortunately the mother retained her mind and seizing a shawl and rushed up the stairs and threw it over the sufferer thus smothering the flames He was burned on both legs, hands and hips and one side of his face. In great suffering little Ernest Chester Langley lingered till Tuesday morning when merciful death relieved him of his agony. -----------------------------------------------------------------
