First child died. On information. Other records show that she married George W. Scott in 1855. Lived in Sharon, Wisc. Have her obituary.She was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery.They lost their first baby to death. Later they took a 5 year old boy into the home, he is Charles J. Scott, married with a son. Other source says married Nov 30, 1855 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Newspaper announcement of celebration, possibly 50 aniversary. "Mr Scott was engaged in farming at Randall, Kenosha Co, Wis.In 1867 a farm was purchased one half mile from the town of Walworth, this county. This was their home till the fall of 1876. During these years a little five year of boy was taken into the house. He, with his wife and son, live on a farm adjoining the old farm near Walworth. In 1876 Mr. Scott and his family moved to Sharon, where he and Mr. A.Griffin, now deceased engaged in the meat market business, a greater portion of the time for over twenty years, this well known firm operated a market here. The second day of last July Mr. Scott passed his seventy seventh birthday and on the seventh day of October, Mrs Scott her 75 th. The reporter with their host of friends in congratulations that they have safely passed so many golden milestones and when the last is passed, wishes them an abundant entrance into the Eternal City. ---------------------------------------------------------- Newspaper clipping - OBITUARY- MRS GEO W. SCOTT Lavinia Louise Scott daughter of Henry and Ann Langley was born in Duchess Co. New York Oct. 7, 1834 and entered into eternal life Nov. 13 1912 at 4 o'clock in the morning having reached the age of 73 years, one month and six days. Her own mother died when he was 5 years of age. Under the loving care of a step-mother she grew up in her father's home at Detroit, Mich. She was united in marriage to Geo. W. Scott on Thanksgiving day, Nov.30, 1854 in the village of Utica, Mich. Only seven days more and they could have celebrated their fifty-eighth anniversary Their union was blessed with three daughters. The eldest died in infancy. The others Ida B. and Maude L. have never known to be long separated from their mother. In 1860 Mr. and Mrs. Scott moved to Randall, Cenosha County, Wis. in 1867 a farm purchased near the village of Walworth, in this County During her years here a 5 year old boy was taken into the home and received the fullness of a mother's love. The child of her care, J.Charles Scott lived with his wife and son on the farm adjoining the old home at Walworth. In Sept, 1876, Mr. Scott with his family, came to Sharon where they have since resided. At the age of 22, Mrs. Scott was converted to the Christian life under the ministry of Rev. Platt, a Congregational minister of Utica, Mich. and united with the Methodist church of that place. Later she joined at Bigfoot, Ill. and shortly after coming here transferred her membership to the Methodist church of Sharon., where she has been a loving, devoted member for over thirty-six years. She was deeply interested in the salvation of souls and prayed much for their conversion. She was devoted to the study of her bible and read it often, by course. There were many marked passages and of the best source in her own Bible. She had an intense and child-like faith. ( much more in original works in my files. I skipped several flowery passages ) Of her father's family of three brothers and seven sisters, two survive her, Mrs Eliza A,.Royce of Sious City, Iowa, and a brother, George S. Langley of Detroit. The funeral was held from home at Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Friends present from out of town were Mrs Eliza A. Royce and son, Willian P. Royce,Miss Lois Jones, Mr. And Mrs W.C. Coon and daughter Elizabeth Ect. -----------------------------------------------------------------
