He served in the Navy in W.W. 11 was sickly and stayed with his mother until in rest homes and death. He was a nice friendly person and we enjoyed visiting with him.
From his daughter-He was the youngest of three children and baby of the family. He had crossed eyes and worn patches over an eye while in primary school. He wore round metal rimmed glasses when he was eight. The family still has his tiny glasses. He helped his father deliver mail by bicycle when his father was in the Postal Service during the depression. As a teenager he got his own postal route.
He volunteered for service during world war 2 as a Sea Bea He was involved in cleaning up nuclear waste on Japan after the bombing. He was in charge of Japanese prisoners and remembers the experience with tears.
My father was a sensitive man and a good father. His brother said that he was the most perfect human being he knew.He had good judgment and gave good advice to other persons. The advice was accepted by many. I especially remember his great sense of humor and a classic deliverer of one liners.
Russell lee was especially close to his mother. He had a high regard for women and said that they should be honored. He encouraged me to follow my dreams and to believe in myself.
He was generous to family members He was a good uncle. He was the most honest and decent person that I ever knew.
