Received the Purple Heart in Marine Corp in Korea. He was a little wild. When he was in the School of Mines he and anther boy set a tree on fire by the Girl's dorm. and were caught and escaped jail but were dismissed from school. Then his mother and father and other children went to Europe and left him home alone. He took off and ended in Australia, then on a cattle ranch in Hawaii and roamed around the world for some time, then worked in the oil fields in Utah for a while and then got a civil Service job in Missouri until he retired. Shirley and I visited him and his wife a couple of time in Lebanon, Missouri, and they were great people. We would have loved to have known them better. They have a lovely comfortable home.
