Misc. Notes
He was raised by an Aunt,Rhoda Randolph Pulliam. He Was crippled and a lawyer. He was mugged and killed in N.Y.C. He never married and his money went to his Aunts daughter,Nellie Elizabeth Pulliam Kroeger. Also have the name Alvin for a twin and not Kenneth. The information on Karl Albert came from a picture album owned by Nellie Kroeger. It seems that Karl probably was named after his bachelor uncle, Albert Falch who I knew when I was a youngster. He became quite civic leader in Sterling, Colorado and never married and left all his money to his cousin, Nellie Kroeger. She had been in poor health for years and the money was welcome. She died in a nursing home at the age of 82, 30 August, 1992 in Liberty Kansas. He left the money to Nellie Kroeger because he was raised by her mother,Rhoda Randolph so they probably were raised as brother and sister. I got confirmation from NELLIE Kroeger's notes from my parents and Mrs Mabel Burgess who were in the area when his mother died from infection from the childbirth. He is buried in the old cemetery just west of Sterling on the old highway He is buried as Karl C Falsh. . He is in Block 8, row 8 second stone. We visited in 1993 and have pictures of the grave. Also have a picture of the twins as babies. Received from Mae Drew. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Copy of letter from Mabel Huffman Burgess -Old timer in Lincoln Co. Colo. and knew all my grandparents. The Frank mentioned was her brother Frank. Letter about Karl Falch He was in New York City ready to go on a trip over seas when he was mugged, robbed and killed in a subway. All of his identification papers were taken. A friend who was meet with him there identified him Some of the things that he did while living in Sterling: was a scout master at one time. Gave $1,000.00 for the education building of the Methodist Church. He and Frank served on several committees at the same time. He was a municipal judge for awhile. He was an altogether good fellow. Frank said that he drove our old model T ford that took your grandmother ( Elizabeth Barton Cady ) to the train when she moved to Missouri.after her husband died. Elizabeth Cady stayed and looked after me when mother had a mastectomy. It was either 1915 or 1916. Frank said that the remembers the little biscuits she made for us. He loved her very much and hated to see her leave.
