Married Diadomia Woodworth. Blind due to severe attack of Smallpox while serving during the Revolutionary War. He was a large, stout man and lived in a home which his father provided for him until he died at the age of 95. He was totally blind but always knew the points of the compass and could bridle his horse and ride alone and never missed the turns in the road.
